History
In the year 1949 our founder voyaged from Cuba to Mexico with a unique type of sugarcane from the province of Camagüey named “Jaronu”. At La Gloria Plantation, Don Jose meticulously crossbreed Joranu with the best Mexican sugarcane varieties until he created our “Caña Diamante®” or “Diamond Cane”.
“Caña Diamante®” is one of a kind, distinguished for having significantly more abundant molasses and much richer sugars. “Caña Diamante®” is selectively planted on 11 acres of La Gloria that are situated on the banks of La Antigua River, a juncture between land and sea that provides the vital minerals and necessary black soil for it to flourish.
Every Bottle of Ron La Gloria is made 100% from Diamond Cane.
La Gloria Plantation and Distillery
The birthplace of Ron La Gloria and from where it proudly takes its name.
The sugar plantation and distillery is located on the southern coast of the magical state of Veracruz. “La Gloria” is a place with profound traditions and ancestral mastery in the sugarcane craft. The hard work and deep love of La Gloria’s inhabitants make Ron La Gloria the magical spirit that it is today.
Veracruz
Veracruz is by far Mexico’s best sugar producing state, but more than that, it is a coastal gem filled with magic and full of traditions. As the first Spanish settlement, it was the stage where Spanish and Mexica cultures converged; the birthplace of the Mexico we know today. The history, music and the taste of sugar, tobacco, vanilla, and coffee are present everywhere.
